Kate Spade new arrivals are in, and boy are they bright and summery! Quirky per usual, Kate has selected Rio Pink, Tropical Patterns, Toucans, Coconuts, and yes — more Idioms — to round out this summery set of new arrivals.

Today Would Have Been Audrey Hepburn’s 85th Birthday

Google pays tribute to Hollywood’s fair lady in today’s Google Doodle.

After a bizarre and traumatic childhood, Audrey went on to be a Hollywood great. Read her story on The Guardian and be sure to check out 25 Timeless Style Lessons from Audrey Hepburn on HuffPostStyle.

Surely you’ve pranced around singing Wouldn’t it Be Loverly? when you were younger. And you’ve had (or still have, or know someone who had) one of these Breakfast at Tiffany’s posters:
I had both on the back of my closet door in college. I have no doubt that they influenced my style, seeing as my collection of LBDs (Little Black Dresses) and pearls grew during this time.

Not only are LBDs universally flattering, but so very classic and versatile.

J.Crew’s Wedding Shop has several classic styles:

Misha Dress in Cotton Cady {Extra 30% off w/ code: SALESALE).

And if you’re a 00 (I’m not…) you can score this Louisa Dress in Silk Chiffon for only $50 (reg: $250)!

Here’s my favorite LBD by Laundry by Shelli Segal:

Not only was Audrey a Hollywood star and a style icon, but she dedicated the last 5 years of her life to humanitarian work – Audrey Hepburn’s Work with UNICEF:

“From the moment she signed on, she went into the field, meeting with the starving children whose message of despair she hoped to carry to the rest of the world. Completely hands on in her approach, she raised the consciousness of millions of people about countries they never knew existed.”

The moral of the story is, as much as we’d love to emulate Audrey’s style by eating croissants and dressing to the nines a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s, we should take her real life work on behalf of the world’s children to heart. Visit unicefusa.org to help a child now.

Dallas, We Love Ya!

A continuation of: Weekend Recap: Our Trip to Dallas

The night we arrived in Dallas we swung back to Hotel Zaza {where we stayed this time last year} to sit on their black + white striped pool furniture and enjoy salads. Ok, cucumber martinis. Same thing. Hotel-Zaza-Pool-Dallas

On Friday morning we were off to The Joule, a boutique hotel in downtown Dallas boasting “a tasteful union of old world quality and contemporary design.”  TheJoule-Dallas

It was so great to hang out with Desiree of Chic Coastal Living again! We meet her last year at the same conference. She looked stunning in a J.Crew Silk Cami + Curator Pant.

Southfork-Ranch-Dallas On Sunday we were treated to a True Texas Experience – brunch at Southfork Ranch!

Yes, it was delicious.

Then we took our mimosas outside to enjoy the sun.

We picked up a vintage-inspired John Derian Tray. You probably need one.
