Week in Review: Travels to Chicago, San Fransisco and the Ryder Cup!

It’s been an action-packed couple of weeks! From San Fransisco to Chicago to Milwaukee and back to Minneapolis for the Ryder Cup! Here are some highlights from our adventures:

Flowers-at-Mission-Dolores-Market-San-Fransisco“I see them bloom for me and you. And I think to myself, What a wonderful world.” I couldn’t help but smile (and let’s be honest, walk in and what else they had to offer) as I walked past this darling market in Mission Dolores, San Fransisco.

View-from-Golden-Gate-Bridge-San-FransiscoThe next night I headed to the Golden Gate Bridge just before sunset, and the views were phenomenal! While it was a chilly walk, it was a clear night (no fog!) and I snapped an embarrassing number of photos.

Next stop: Chicago. When I arrived my friends had already eaten lunch, so I took matters into my own hands. Made a beeline for the 3 Arts Club Cafe aka “a posh haunt inside Restoration Hardware combining a coffeehouse, wine bar & American restaurant.” Let me tell you, it lives up to the hype! The next time you’re in Chicago, I’d highly recommend swinging by. And plan extra time for exploring each floor of RH Chicago – design inspo for DAYS.

Like this chandelier filled hallway…

And this dreamy lounge on the top floor…

After a quick stop in Milwaukee for my grandma’s 90th birthday party (!!!) I made my way back to Minnesota and was pleasantly surprised to find the weather was still summery. Sundays-Lake-Minnetonka

Which turned out to be PERFECT for the Ryder Cup.  Ryder-Cup-2016-MN
We had a blast wearing full on red, white & blue and cheering on Team USA. We also got to catch up with friends from out-of-town all while spending ample time outdoors.

What have you been up to this fall?

Wear This…Not That

In response to questionable fashion choices on my what should be chic downtown Chicago campus, the JCR girls have created the Wear This Not That installment. Making bad fashion decisions well known and proposing Crew alternatives- I can put this on my resume as community service, right?

There is really never an excuse for this weeks featured fashion faux pas but without snow on the ground I am truly stumped as to why ANYONE would tuck their sweatpants into their Ugg boots. I am actually a proponent of the Ugg. Going to school in the heart of the frozen tundra known as the Midwest I completely understand the need to go to extreme lengths to stay warm. But let’s be serious, sub-zero temperatures do not impair your vision!

Comfy, cozy, Crew alternative:

Pixie Pant- $69.50

Sutton Tall Leather Boots- $298

The cute way to stay comfy and stylish at the same time? The Pixie Pant. Like a legging but better- and what’s the BEST thing about these pants? You don’t get that awful bunch up at the top of your boots because they aren’t saggy baggy. Next, you COULD wear Uggs if you so desired, but…whats wrong with a fabulous leather boot? I mean there is no pair of boots out there designed to make sure your feet remain freezing in the winter. They will keep your feet warm and you will look cute, FACT.

Now I really don’t think that solution was TOO hard to find! I also think having some cute “camp” style or argyle socks peaking out of the top of the boots couldn’t hurt. Currently, however, those styles are only available for men. Not okay, Crew, not okay!
