Even though The JCR girls have all graduated from college, there is no escaping the hype ushered in with fall college football season. Oh, and NFL football season. And high school football season. Let’s face it, when it’s fall (especially in the Midwest) there is no escaping FOOTBALL!
If you’re like me and would rather take a hike than hear another “Hut Hut Hike,” a cozy outfit from Crew might be exactly what you need to keep you cheery and cheering on your favorite team.
Lesson #1: How to Stay Cute, Cozy & Chic in Football Fashions
In terms of Football Fashion (as with most other collegiate or professional sports fashion statements) we do not generally condone sports shop and/or bookstore-bought attire. While there are a few exceptions, the JCR girls cling to team colors and NOT these over-the-top obnoxious team tees & cheesy accessories…
Lesson #2 is How to Wear Jeans Post-Sandal // Pre-Boot Season
That awkward interim phase has hit us! That time when it’s a wee bit too chilly for flip flops and not quite cold enough for fall boots (although we are lusting for the latest boots!) It’s flats season and this fall we encourage our JCR readers to hike up their denim hems (so not as to ruin your bootcut bottoms) and do the Huck Finn!
For those of you who are unfamiliar, let me introduce:
The Huckleberry Finn
(aka roll your jeans like a hillbilly yet pull it off with an impeccably chic twist)
With the jean fully unrolled, fold over an inch of fabric to make the ankle opening tighter. Then hold on to that fold as you roll up from the bottom to desired length (we like ours to hit just above the ankle).
Now there you have it! Two fabulous lessons to take you into fall without letting your fashion sense fall to the wayside.
